Meet  the experts

Celia Gadd

Celia Gadd started her entrepreneurial journey at the age of 16 when she first embarked on her successful equestrian career.

Over the next 30 years she established herself as an incredibly experienced and talented rider, coach, journalist, recruiter and events manager.

She has worked alongside Liz Gadd in the recruitment industry with a particular focus on the ‘Rustic and Rural’ sectors for many years, and has a in-depth understanding of the recruitment process.

Celia is also an experienced and senior partner with UW, and has a large team of entrepeneurs within her business.  Recruiting and training new partners is a daily part of Celia’s general activity and job role.

Liz Gadd

Liz has been working as a recruiter for three decades, working within marketing and PR since 1992, and of course more recently in social media and digital marketing recruitment.

Liz has studied recruitment through a degree and a diploma and has taken literally hundreds of other courses and development programmes related to recruitment practice and strategy.

To put the last three decades into context, when Liz started recruiting in 1992 there were 10 candidates for every job, in 2024 there are 10 jobs for every candidate and more if you count 100% remote working opportunities.  The recruitment market is ever-changing and 2024 continues to present recruitment challenges for clients.

Liz and Becs are proud founders of Moxie and Mettle (creative recruiters) and also have another business called Rustic and Rural, as well as the Recruitment Bootcamp. Having worked for herself since 1997, Liz is now in partnership with Rebecca Hodgson, who has 22 years’ experience too, what a team!

Rebecca Hodgson

Becs met Liz in 2000 at Clifton Parke, which at the time was one of the very few marketing and creative recruiters in the South West of the UK.  She only planned to stay in recruitment for a short while but fast forward twenty odd years and she’s still in the business!

Becs has done various roles within recruitment throughout her career, which initially resulted in her becoming Managing Director of Clifton Parke. She then had a very short break to have her twins but then set up her own business as an independent recruiter within the marketing space, Pure Marketing Recruitment.

Throughout this period, Becs and Liz often worked in collaboration with each other; their working relationship has always been unique – they totally “get” each other; and complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses as are totally different in character, style and approach – it really works!
